Kimeshek

Description

A traditional headdress of married Kazakh women, symbolizing family status and age.
Mañdaisha (front part): fits tightly to the head from the front, covers the hair and leaves a neat cut for the face, embroidered with golden-brown threads, emphasizing the oval of the face.
Öñir (breast part): a wide strip of fabric that descends to the chest and shoulders, decorated with a rich ornament of a plant-style (қошқар мүйіз, гүлді өрнектер), which gives a solemnity.
Külpar (the part that covers the neck and sides): a double layer of fabric that covers the chin, neck, and sides of the face. It provides modesty and protection from the wind.
Töbelдіріk (the upper part/frame): it holds the shape of the headwear. The top is adorned with an embroidered knot, which serves as a decorative element and supports the traditional design.
The primary color is white, symbolizing purity, dignity, and respect.
The ornaments are made in a golden-brown color scheme, which is typical for festive or ceremonial kimesheks.
