Description

The Order of the Red Banner of Labour of the USSR No. 229586 is a state award associated with Maylan Bekenov (1897-1960), a veteran of the Emba oil industry and a leading worker and operator at the Dossor oil field. The badge consists of a central circular medallion surrounded by a wreath of gilded oak leaves. The medallion depicts a hydroelectric dam, a tractor, and a rising sun, overlaid by a darkened hammer and sickle. Above it is a waving red enamel banner bearing the inscription “СССР” (“USSR”), while the lower section features a red enamel star framed by wheat ears. The badge is attached to a pentagonal suspension block covered with a moiré ribbon. The reverse bears the award number 229586 and the mint mark “МД”.
