The still life is built on the juxtaposition of a dark plate, two elongated bottles, and a small round bowl against a monochrome brownish-maroon background. The colour scheme is rendered in a single tonal range - from deep brown to ochre-beige - with minimal colour contrast. The dense, relief-like texture of the paint and the concise selection of objects lend the composition a restrained, almost abstract character typical of an intimate still life. Bottom left - monogram.
