Lights of the Heroes

Description

Author: Jazybaev, Temirbulat. 1949
An industrial landscape depicting a bucket-wheel excavator at a coal open-pit mine at night. The numerous floodlights of the installation create vivid points of light. In the foreground are three figures of workers standing against a backdrop of rock spoil heaps, lending scale to the composition. The coloring is built on the contrast between the warm sunset sky and the cool tones of the metal. The manner of execution is detailed, with precise rendering of the complex engineering structure.
