Portrait of a Miner

Description

Author: Yesirkeyev, Raymkul. 1921-1980
A three-quarter-length frontal portrait of a worker wearing workwear and a hard hat equipped with a headlamp. The background features an industrial landscape with the silhouettes of mine headframes and factory structures rendered in an ochre-gray palette. The paint application is dense; the volumes of the face and clothing are modeled through large, generalized planes with strong chiaroscuro.
