Author: Yevdakov, Alexander. 1913-1943
A rural landscape study. In the foreground, furrows of ploughed earth curve gently, receding into the depth of the composition toward the village buildings. On the left, along the ploughed land, runs a wooden board fence, behind which houses and trees are visible. On the right stands a spreading tree. Most of the vertically elongated composition is occupied by a blue sky with clouds. The work is executed in an impressionistic manner with active, sweeping brushstrokes.
