In the upper-left corner of the overcast sky with its gray billowing clouds, an aircraft receding from the viewer is visible, compositionally linking the figure with the airspace. The monochrome color palette, limited to nuances of gray-blue and dark green, and the mobile manner of painting convey the gloomy atmosphere and the tense stillness of the moment.
