A symbolic-allegorical composition in which the tree trunk is rendered as the fused figures of a man and a woman clinging to one another, their silhouettes discernible within the interwoven curves that form a unified anthropomorphic-botanical image. The crown is painted in red with interspersed lighter, pinkish hues, creating the effect of a canopy in abundant bloom. The background is rendered in a cool blue palette. The painting is executed with a rich, relief impasto whose texture plays an independent, expressive role alongside color.
