Childhood

Description

Author: Ilyaev, Sultan. 1954
A decorative composition built on a harmonious interplay of images that evoke a child’s playful perception of the world. The pictorial space is filled with stylized depictions of animals, birds, fish, a house, a toy ship, and geometric patterns. Rendered in a naive, child-like manner, the figures defy a unified scale. Shapes formed from geometric color patches in vibrant shades of blue, red, yellow, and green assemble like a vivid collage, giving the composition the feel of a free-flowing visual game.
