Author: Kasteyev, Abylkhan. 1904-1973
A battle composition on a historical-revolutionary theme, depicting the departure of Amangeldy Imanov’s popular militia fighters. On the right in the foreground stands a detachment of mounted sarbaz cavalry with an unfurled red banner, led by a commander on a light grey horse; in the middle ground to the left, near a yurt, warriors prepare for battle, while in the distance, along the horizon line, columns of horsemen move, creating a sense of scale and mass movement. The color palette is built on a combination of warm, golden-ochre and brown tones of the steppe with the cool blue of the sky and the resonant accent of the red banner-the narrative and color center of the composition; the panoramic spatial structure, the dynamics of the equestrian figures, and the detailed, realistic painting technique align the work with the tradition of the Soviet historical painting, glorifying the national liberation struggle. At the lower right - signature and date.
