An urban landscape with historical connotations features, to the left of center in the foreground, the dominant framework of a red domed building as a symbolic motif. Unfolding behind it is a panorama of Hiroshima, encompassing a river, embankment, residential and public structures, trees, and a square with a memorial. Mountains and sky form the upper portion of the composition. The structure relies on the contrast between the highlighted symbolic element in the foreground and a deep, multi-layered urban perspective. Rendered in an energetic manner with visible brushwork, the work presents generalized forms bounded by sharply defined lines.
