Author: Nazyrov, Zagrutdin. 1909-1989
Executed in an elongated horizontal format, the landscape depicts a deserted shore with a ridge of rocks in the second plan, beyond which the smooth sheet of the lake stretches to the horizon beneath a luminous sky. Rendered in a plein-air sketch manner with light brushstrokes, the forms are generalized, with the horizon line dividing the composition into broad horizontal zones. The palette relies on combining cool blue-green water tones with the warm ochre shades of the shore and a light, almost whitish sky.
