Mountain Roads

Description

Author: Valentina, Matveevna. 1915-1990
A landscape capturing a winding mountain river flowing between towering slopes. Descending along the foreground slope from left to right are two horse-drawn carts laden with hay. The palette is built on a rich combination of green, blue, and violet tones, accented by ochre, reddish-brown, and orange highlights. Vibrant color, the rugged contours of the terrain, and broad, energetic brushwork create a compelling sense of motion, giving the scene a dynamic painterly expressiveness. At the lower left - signature and date.
