An industrial landscape composition executed in the aesthetic of Soviet Modernism with the influence of the “Severe Style,” placing particular emphasis on constructive geometry and purity of form. The composition is built upon the dominance of deep coral-red, terracotta, and brick red shades of agricultural machinery occupying nearly the entire canvas; this monolithic red block stands in sharp contrast to the cool violet-blue sky and the muted buildings in the background. The combines and tractors, stripped of minute details, are transformed into brutal geometric volumes, while the rhythm of lines, wheels, and cabs creates a complex industrial architectonics. In the right corner, two small figures-a man and a young woman-provide a sense of scale. The dense, impasto brushwork accentuates the rugged texture of metal and sun-baked earth, while close-up framing and poster-like composition lend a monumental presence to the machinery, transforming a routine equipment yard into a generalized emblem of the industrial era and the reclamation of the Virgin Lands.
