Overcast

An urban landscape rendered in a study-like manner. The composition is anchored by an uphill road that smoothly draws the viewer’s eye into the depth of the scene; to its right, a section of a staircase balustrade topped with white globes is depicted. A dense line of leafy trees stretches along the road, revealing rooftop silhouettes and light-colored structures perched on the rise. A subdued color palette-built on the harmony of grayish-brown and muted green tones-together with a generalized painterly style, masterfully captures the overcast mood and intimate tranquility of the urban outskirts.
