Ridder Museum of History and Local History
The Ridder Historical and Local History Museum is one of the key scientific, educational, and cultural institutions in the East Kazakhstan region. Since its opening, the museum has been located in the right wing of the first floor of a residential building at the following address: 11 Tauelsizdik (Independence) Avenue, Ridder city. The total usable area of the building is 411.8 square meters, of which 277 sq.m are dedicated to exhibition space, 74 sq.m to work offices, and 60 sq.m to storage for the collections.
The museum's staff structure consists of 11.5 positions. Currently, six specialists with higher education and one specialist with secondary specialized education are employed at the museum. This team successfully carries out the museum’s scientific, archival, and educational activities.
The museum's collection comprises 32,571 items. Among the most significant are archaeological, ethnographic, and paleontological collections, as well as a photographic and documentary archive. These materials make it possible to comprehensively reflect the natural, geographical, historical, and cultural development of the region.
The Ridder Historical and Local History Museum actively participates in regional, national, and international scientific and practical conferences and seminars, as well as various initiatives aimed at preserving historical and cultural heritage. In addition, the museum closely cooperates with local educational institutions by organizing tours and lectures for schoolchildren and students, thus implementing local history education in the academic sphere.
