Stone Sculpture

Description

The ossuary has an oval shape elongated along the horizontal axis. Its lid is domed and fitted with a convenient handle at the top for lifting and carrying. The handle is decorated with an anthropomorphic representation of an animal figure. The ossuary was handmade from natural clay and fired in a kiln. Its surface is not entirely smooth, reflecting its handcrafted production. The front side of the ossuary and its rim are decorated using a molding technique. Oblique incised lines are applied in the central section. Human skeletal remains are preserved inside the ossuary.
