Description
Samovar. A device for boiling water with the help of fuel, the samovar consists of a pipe, a chimney, a water container, an iron lid, and a tap. At the bottom of the samovar is a base made up of four supporting legs. On the base is the furnace compartment shaped like a tube. Fuel (wood charcoal, peat) is loaded into this tube and ignited. At the bottom of the furnace is a blowing device that ensures the fire burns. The water container is located at the top of the furnace. On the front part of the water container, there is a tap whose handle turns to open and close it. On both sides of the water container are handles for lifting and transporting the samovar. The handles are decorated with patterns, and the holder is made of plastic. At the top of the water container is a lid. The edges of the lid are also adorned with wavy patterns. In the center of the lid, there is a hole for steam to escape and a black plastic handle for opening and closing. The lid has a base for the teapot to keep it warm. The lid of the samovar features the marks of the factory of the Shemarin brothers, who produced samovars in the city of Tula. The samovar was likely made in the years 1890-1900. It was passed to the museum by a descendant of the hero Bogenbai Alihan Barlybaev.
