Description

The hum has a spherical body slightly flattened at the poles, made from dense red clay. The rim is semi-rectangular in shape, 4 cm wide. The rim sharply transitions into the swollen body, which narrows towards the bottom. The outside of the hum is carefully smoothed, with an ornament engraved on the upper part of the body. Under the rim, concentric circles are engraved, alongside wavy lines, from which a downward-directed Kazakh national ornament “Qoshqar muiiz” (Ram’s Horn) extends. The ornament is symmetrically carved around the entire circumference of the body and alternates with vertically arranged parallel wavy lines. The exterior is covered with a pinkish engobe, decorated with brown stains.
