Spindle

Description

The spindle is the primary tool for spinning wool in the traditional lifestyle of the Kazakh people. It consists of two parts:
Spindle shaft (internal part): A long wooden stick, tapering toward the lower end and gradually widening toward the upper end. The shaft facilitates rotation when spinning wool into thread.
Spindle tip (nipple): A round weight placed on the upper part of the shaft. It serves to maintain rotational inertia for an extended period. In the center, there is a hole shaped like a disk.
