Description
A wide, belt-shaped woven item essential for the interior structure of the yurt, serving both decorative and practical functions. It encircles the outer side of the lattice walls (kerege) and is intended to securely fasten the external felt coverings of the yurt. The baskur is handwoven from wool yarn, with geometric and ornamental patterns depicted on its surface. The designs are decorated with motifs such as “ram’s horns,” zigzag lines, squares, and rhombuses.
