Brick from the Koylyk Settlement

Description

The brick is crafted in a flat square shape (plinthan brick) typical of medieval architecture. Its surface is uneven, with visible natural clay granules and sand impurities. It was molded in a special frame and fired in a kiln at a high temperature. This brick is a valuable archaeological artifact that demonstrates the level of development in construction techniques and architectural art of Koylyk in the 12th century. It stands as evidence of the craftsmanship used in constructing the city’s palaces, mosques, and mausoleums.
