Description

Fastener - a traditional Kazakh decorative and fastening accessory used with women’s traditional clothing. The fastener was used to join and secure the front parts of a garment and also served a decorative purpose. The exhibit consists of two main decorative parts connected by a central element. The components have oval and pointed geometric shapes, with their surfaces decorated with fine relief ornamentation. The edges are embellished with wavy and leaf-shaped decorative elements. Loop-shaped fastening elements are located at both ends of the item.
