Börik (headwear)

Description

Börik - a traditional hat belonging to Tañirbergen Qalilakhanov, a renowned researcher of the Zhetysu region, writer, playwright, ethnographer, journalist, and veteran of war and labor. The hat was produced at the Fur Factory of the Kazakh SSR (Almaty city). The item has a rounded shape and is made in the traditional style of a men’s headwear. The edge is trimmed with muskrat fur, while the crown is covered with soft black plush fabric. The dark color of the fur and its glossy texture give the hat a decorative appearance and provide warmth.
