Spearhead

Description

Date: First half of the 19th century
1830-1840s

Metal spearhead, four-sided, with a conical form at the base of each facet. It belonged to Shynaly Baytlesov, one of the batyrs who took part in the people’s liberation uprising of 1836-1837 alongside Isatay and Makhambet. Donated to the museum by the grandson of batyr Shynaly Baytlesov.

Technique: Forging, hardening (shaping by heating and hammering the metal)
