Millstone

Description

Stone mill - a traditional hand-operated mill used for grinding grains such as wheat, barley, millet, corn, and others, as well as for producing flour or groats. It consists of two round stone parts placed one above the other. The lower stone serves as a stationary base, while the upper stone is rotated manually using a special handle. Grain is poured through an opening in the centre of the upper stone and, as the stone rotates, passes between the two stones, where it is ground. The finished product emerges from the edges of the millstone.
