Description
One of the five weapons used by Kazakh warriors. It is designed to inflict blows and wounds to the enemy in combat, both in hand-to-hand combat and on horseback.
The handle is made of wood, and the head of the axe is forged from iron. Due to the shape of the blade, which resembles a moon, it was named “aibalta” (moon axe).
Production period: the middle of the XX century.
Manufacturing techniques: heating, forging, cutting, grinding.
Dimensions: total length - 87 cm, blade length - 73 cm
Condition
The handle is intact, but it shows signs of wear and darkening from time and use. The metal blade of the axe is covered with a patina, there is corrosion, but the shape of the blade is preserved. The overall preservation of the item can be considered satisfactory, there is no visible major damage, but there is natural aging.
