Description

The “Molodyozhny” Tube-Driven Electrophonograph is a Soviet portable Class 3 record player manufactured from 1965 at the Leningrad Electromechanical Plant “Sputnik.” The device is designed as a compact portable suitcase and was intended for playing gramophone records. A speaker is built into the removable upper lid and connected to the main unit of the device. The exhibit reflects the characteristics of domestic use and the development of Soviet sound reproduction technology in the mid-20th century, and has historical-domestic and cultural value.
