Description
Тraditional Kazakh vessel for storing and carrying liquids, most often koumiss, shalaba, ayran or water. It is made of leather, usually bovine or camel. The leather is pre-treated, tanned, and then stitched by hand.
The shape can vary, but most often resembles a bag or a wineskin with a wide base and a narrow neck.
Sometimes it is decorated with carvings, metal or wooden elements, as can be seen in the image - the neck has a carved wooden element.
The neck is equipped with a wooden lid and is complemented by a decorative notch.
Two straps are attached on both sides of the neck. The patterns are applied on both sides. There is a graphic symbol of the sun and power right in the middle. A stopper with a long wooden handle is installed in the neck.
