Description
XVIII-XIX centuries, an accidental find. A type of protective clothing used in battles to protect against stabbing weapons such as spears, swords, and bows. The format is made in the form of a short-sleeved shirt and is completely braided with round metal rings. This type of mesh armor belongs to the ring group. The sleeve is short to the elbow, the hem is long. Indira Telebayeva, a resident of the Aksu district of the Zhetysu region, donated it to the museum’s fund.

Condition
The chain mail is in satisfactory condition, taking into account its age. The main part of the chain mail is intact, but some breaks or loss of links are visible, especially in the area of the lower edge and on the shoulders.There are areas of severe wear, especially in the area of the bottom and sleeves, which indicates prolonged use. The rings show signs of oxidation (rust).
