A close-up still life with flowers. In the upper part of the composition are large yellow flowers with dark centres, occupying the main plane; below them are two darker, red-brown blooms. The flowers are shown fragmentarily, without a vase or any object setting, densely filling the space. The handling is impasted, with an active texture and a marked expressiveness of brushstroke; form is generalized and the contours are blurred.
