A mountain landscape executed in a generalized painterly manner. The composition is based on the combination of large colour planes: dark mountain slopes frame the winding water surface in the central part. The colour palette is restrained and cool, dominated by blue and green tones. The brushwork is dense, and the forms are conditionally generalized. The small figures of a woman and a rider introduced into the landscape emphasize the scale of the mountain scenery and give the scene a genre character.
