Medal «For Labour Valour of the USSR»

Description

The «For Labour Valour of the USSR» medal is attached to a pentagonal suspension covered with a lilac moiré ribbon featuring longitudinal red stripes along the edges. The obverse bears a five-pointed star with a hammer and sickle at its centre. A raised inscription in three lines reads «ЗА ТРУДОВУЮ ДОБЛЕСТЬ СССР» (“For Labour Valour of the USSR”). The medal belonged to R. Mamaev and represents an example of the Soviet state award system established to recognize outstanding labour achievements.
