«Respect to mother» museum
The «Respect to Mother» Museum is dedicated to promoting the history and lifestyle of women, strengthening the continuity of generations, and reinforcing the institution of the mother and family. The museum focuses on revitalizing national education, traditions, and cultural values. The museum’s primary mission is to highlight the role of Kazakh women in family and society, and to promote national values through the everyday labor of mothers, child upbringing, and their responsibility in preserving the family hearth. The museum’s identity is based on showcasing the daily life of Kazakh women, their loyalty to traditions, and their spiritual strength in enduring hardship and difficult times. Through the exhibitions, the patience, labor, and life experience of mothers are vividly reflected.
The «Respect to Mother» Museum was established based on the idea of Professor Bakyt Zhatqanbaikyzy Shpekbayeva of the University of International Relations. One of Bakyt’s childhood dreams was to open a museum or center dedicated to mothers. Later, after receiving an education and reaching her current level, she realized this dream within the framework of the «Raise Your Flag in Your Homeland» program, initiated by our Leader. The museum was opened under the name «Respect to Mother» at the 26th kilometer of the Zhandosov highway, in the Raiymbek rural district of Karasai district, Almaty region, on the slopes of the Ile Alatau mountains. If you search online, you will find that there are no state museums in the world specifically dedicated to mothers. There are only private museums dedicated to individuals, but a museum specially created for mothers, filled with such valuable artifacts, exists only here. The museum is housed in a two-story building with a total area of 750 square meters. The idea to open such a place belongs to Bakyt Shpekbayeva, who even collected some of the exhibits herself. In 2021, a Picture Gallery was opened next to the «Respect to Mother» Museum, along with a monument called «Tribute to Mother» dedicated to mothers who cradle the world in one hand and rock the cradle with the other.
