It has the shape of a pear truncated at the bottom, hollow inside. There is a peculiar cast, solid loop for hanging, as well as an interior component to secure a “tongue”, which, when swung, produces a sound, but the tongue itself is absent. Around the circumference, at the larger diameter, there is an inscription “July 8, 1865”.
