The vessel

Kyzylorda Regional Museum of Local Lore

Discovered at the Uigarakh archaeological complex, dating to the early stage of the Early Iron Age. The vessel was hand-made from clay and fired. It has a stable form with a wide body and a relatively short neck. The surfaces of some examples are smoothed and decorated with simple linear or wavy patterns.
Such jars were used in everyday life for storing water, food, and various provisions. Archaeologically, these objects are an important source for studying the economic system, pottery-making traditions of the Shirik-Rabat culture, and the daily life of the population of that period. The vessel is decorated with bud-shaped appliqué ornaments and represents one of the earliest jars made in a zoomorphic style.
