The vessel lid is an archaeological artifact discovered at the medieval settlement of Jankent and dated to the 7th-11th centuries. The object was identified in 2014 during the Jankent Archaeological Expedition conducted in the Kazaly District, in Room No. 3, and was subsequently reconstructed.
The lid is circular in shape with a conical profile and features a cylindrical handle at the center. Its surface is decorated with ornamental patterns. The artifact is not fully preserved: on the upper lateral side of the handle there is a lug with a circular perforation, which is interpreted as a functional element intended for holding or suspending the lid.
The material is red clay.
This lid represents an important source for the study of medieval domestic ceramics, the technological level of pottery production, and the vessel culture of Jankent.
