Bracelet

Kyzylorda Regional Museum of Local Lore

Bracelet is one of the most widespread types of women’s jewelry in traditional Kazakh decorative and applied art. In the traditional Kazakh society, bracelets were worn by girls and women on the wrist as ornamental accessories. In addition, parents commissioned special children’s bracelets for girls aged 4-5, aiming to instill an appreciation for beauty, elegance, and festive culture. Such ornaments played an important role in shaping a child’s aesthetic sense and had educational value.
The described bracelet dates to the early 19th century and reflects traditional examples of jewelry craftsmanship of that period. The object is handmade, and its shape and size are adapted for everyday wear. The height of the bracelet is 6 cm. This ornament is a valuable museum artifact that illustrates the material culture, aesthetic ideals, and jewelry traditions of the Kazakh people.
