This deer figurine belongs to the Saka period. It was accidentally discovered by a resident of the Amangeldi state farm, Moyynkum District, Zhambyl Region. It dates to the 8th-4th centuries.
The object is made in a hunting style by ancient craftsmen and is a unique find. In Central Asia, deer were considered protectors of borders, health, and safety. Among the Saka people living in Zhetysu, bronze figurines were used as sacrificial offerings. Such items were often buried with the deceased or used as part of religious rituals.
