Clasp - fastener

Kostanay Regional Museum of Local Lore

It’s a stylized image of a butterfly. It consists of two halves, closed with a hook and loop.
Each half of the clasp is a butterfly wing, divided into five segments, shaped like a flower petal. The segments are decorated with a sprig of false grain and a pattern in the form of two spiral curls covered with black. The patterns on the segments alternate. The middle of the clasp is made in the form of a butterfly body, rounded at the ends. There are 5 holes on the fastener for sewing on clothes.
Dating: 20th century, Kostanay region
Material: silver, enamel.
Technique: stamping, engraving, scanning, grain, soldering.
Size: 9,0х6,8 cm.
