Batashov, Tula.” “Trading House, 1850.” The lid is smooth and stepped, topped with a tall finial; at its center is a raised ring. The lid is fitted with two handles and a steam vent. The handles consist of paired carved plates, curved upward and decorated in relief, with an oval wooden grip set between the plates. The chimney collar features shaped, decorative cutouts.
The lid bears the name of the factory, an impressed double-headed eagle, and impressions of two awards. The body carries an impressed Russian state coat of arms, awarded at the All-Russian Exhibition as the highest honor for excellence in manufactured goods.
