Mammoth Tooth
A rectangular tooth with convoluted enamel. The outer layer is brown, while the inner layer is light gray with black inclusions. The roots are partially preserved. Mammoths (Mammuthus primigenius Blum) became extinct around 15,000 years ago and were the last representatives of proboscideans living in Kazakhstan at that time. Mammoths had only four teeth, used for chewing coarse plant material.
