Description
Kazakhstan. Baskur – a patterned woven tape used for decorating a yurt, as well as for externally fastening the joints with the kerege. It consists of twisted woolen threads. The composition of the ornament is executed in the interlaced technique of terme. It includes an alternation of stripes with patterns of ashtarkhan tartu and spider. The edges of the baskur are framed with a strip featuring patterns of the yellow-green color of alaqurt. There is fringe at the edges.
