Description
Southern Kazakhstan. Baskur is a patterned woven ribbon used for decorating a yurt, as well as for externally tightening the joints with the kerege. It consists of woolen threads. The composition of the ornament is executed in a technique that combines pile and non-pile weaving. It includes stripes adorned with multicolored patterns of “қосмүйіз” inscribed within diamonds. Additionally, it features patterns such as “аратіс,” “сыңармүйіз,” “қармақ,” “шаршы,” “өрмекші,” and “шыңжыра.”
