Description
Bau tük. Kazakhstan. Baskur – a patterned woven ribbon for decorating the yurt, as well as for externally binding the joints with the kerege. It consists of twisted, knotted wool threads. The composition of the ornament is executed in the alternating technique of terme. It includes alternating stripes with patterns – “jüzteru” in black and red; rhombuses with inscribed patterns “törtkülaq”. The edges of the baskur are bordered with a stripe featuring “ireksu” patterns in red and white.
