Stone Whetstone

Description

A stone whetstone is a household item used for sharpening metal tools and weapons.
The shape of the item is elongated, rectangular with smoothly rounded edges. The surface is smoothed out as a result of long-term use. On one of the edges there is a through hole – which served for hanging the whetstone on a belt or rope, so that to carry it with you and use it in camping conditions.
The material is a dense gray-brown stone with abrasive properties, which allowed for effective sharpening of iron knives, spearheads, arrows, and household tools.
