Description

X-XII centuries. A round, richly decorated mirror features a convex bulge at the center of its surface. Its perimeter is divided into two circumscribed sections by a double circle. The third, outer and flat band is adorned with an embossed design of three fish. The second surface, intended for reflecting images, is glossy and smooth. The edges of the mirror gently bevel toward the decorated surfaces. The village of Yeginsu, Ak-su District, Zhetysu Region. Accidental find. 2013.
Manufactured using melting, casting, and embossing techniques.
Size: diameter – 8.5 cm, thickness – 0.7 cm.
