Description
A traditional household tool made of solid wood, used for pounding and grinding grains such as millet, wheat, and other cereals.
The keli is 50-60 cm tall, crafted from a thick log, with the center hollowed out to a depth of 30-35 cm. Its outer surface is decorated with traditional Kazakh patterns.
The kelsap is a heavy wooden pestle used for pounding. The bottom part is weighted for effective use, while the top part features a carved handle for a firm grip. The kelsap is typically 1.2-1.3 meters long and made from thick wood.
