Description
VI-IX centuries. A monument in the form of a stone-carved human figure, widespread in the ancient Turkic era. It is found in all regions of the Kazakh steppe. The earliest balbals date back to the ancient Saka era, although researchers attribute their broad cultural development to the Turkic era.
It is carved in the shape of a standing man from a large rectangular stone. On the front side of the stone, a face of Mongolian origin is sculpted - that of a mustachioed man with closed eyes.
Brought from the village of Lugovoye in the Kerbulak District of the Jetysu Region.
Height - 200 cm, width – 34 cm, thickness - 30 cm.
