Chest protector

Description

Chest strap (omildirik) is one of the elements of horse harness. It is placed on the horse’s chest to prevent the saddle from shifting. Kazakh craftsmen made the omildirik from durable yuft leather or thick hide, stitching it by hand and decorating it with cast ornamental elements.
Techniques: tanning, forging, casting.
Dimensions: length - 105 cm, width - 2.5 cm.
